Lisa and Chris look forwards to welcoming you to our family home in Girvan.

Girvan is a small coastal town on the Firth of Clyde approximately 20 miles south of the county town of Ayr. Famous for being the home of Ailsa Craig, a distinct stony granite outcrop off the coast which is a site of special scientific interest and the source of granite for most competition curling stones. Girvan also lies within the Galloway and South Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere so finds itself in a great spot for ramblers, cyclists and eco-tourism in general. A Character Bed & Breakfast with warm hospitality and a hearty breakfast to start the day!

Peel House was built in 1923 as a police station for the Ayrshire County Force on a site formally occupied by three cottages, it was used for that purpose until in 2014 Police Scotland moved its office to the towns new community hospital site. Architecturally Peel House is stylistically similar to the impressive Turnberry Hotel designed by Duncan Menzies, although at this present time we cannot confirm he was the architect for our building. As you can imagine our police station has many quirky features, the most impressive being our four police cells. In a future project we hope to offer these as accommodation but for now we offer you two rooms in a section of the building that we believe used to be the home of the station's Sergeant. Ask to see the cells if you'd like to though!

We offer a spacious and comfortable bed and breakfast experience coupled with a desire to offer a heartfelt warm welcome to all our valued guests - "Our Home is You're Home" during your stay with us.

All of our rooms are strictly no smoking, all have a private bathroom or en-suite with views either overlooking the towns conservation area or the Carrick Hills .

Each room is also equipped with drinks making facilities, a smart TV providing both Freeview channels and streaming services via your own Amazon account, and free WiFi is provided for all of our guests.

Our Homemade Loaves of bread or rolls. Great for toast, that sausage and bacon butty or a packed lunch.

Our House Recipe Granola

As an added extra during your stay we can also make a mean Jam and Cream Scone for that afternoon Tea.

Toiletries and Cleaning Products

We believe where possible the products we use at Peel House should be friendly to both the environment and those using them. We have tried to source products whose ingredients are natural ; and in formats designed to reduce waste during use and after use.
